Russian Allegation About Sea Mines From Ukraine
Russian Allegation About Sea Mines From Ukraine

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported that the sea mines seen in Turkey and Romania on March 26-28 were not registered with the Ukrainian Naval Forces as of the beginning of 2022.

In the statement made on the official website of the ministry, it was stated that the Russian military forces deliberately tried to provoke and discredit Ukraine in the presence of international partners, using sea mines captured during the temporary occupation of the Ukrainian city of Sevastopol in 2014.

In the statement, it was stated that Russia deliberately turned sea mines in the entire Black Sea, in the Azov, as well as in the Kerch and Black Sea straits, into weapons of de facto indiscriminate action, threatening, above all, civilian transport and human life at sea.

In the statement, it was stated that the Russian Navy, which started a large-scale war against Ukraine, used sea mines as a new "piracy method" in addition to seizing and destroying civilian ships and bombing Ukraine from the sea, and that the responsibility for the use of drifting mines and their unforeseen consequences is only possible. It was emphasized that it belongs to the Russian Federation and its navy.
