Managing its operations and activities with the understanding of "sustainable environment", Pegasus Airlines made its first domestic flight between Izmir Adnan Menderes Airport and Sabiha Gökçen on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, using Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). Procuring SAF fuel originating from Neste Corporation from Petrol Ofisi, Pegasus will operate one domestic flight from Izmir every day during March with SAF.

Nane stated that reducing the carbon footprint originating from the aviation industry is of critical importance on the road to sustainable aviation, and said, “As per the Paris Climate Agreement, to which Turkey is a party, a 2030% reduction in carbon emissions by 50. envisaged. One of the important factors that can make this possible is to increase the use of Sustainable Aviation Fuel. Since 2019, we have been operating certain international flights with SAF. We have carried this practice to our domestic flights in cooperation with Petrol Ofisi. The road to sustainable aviation
Carrying out its first domestic flight with SAF, a sustainable version of Jet A and Jet A-1 fuel and a clean alternative to fossil jet fuels, Pegasus carries out many studies on the road to sustainable aviation. In line with IATA's "Net Zero Carbon Emissions Until 2050" decision, Pegasus is one of the leading airline companies in the world to make this commitment; It also determined the interim target for 2030.
