New Generation Transportation Systems Meets Citizens at AUS Summit

SUMMITS 3rd International Turkey Intelligent Transportation Systems (AUS) Summit started at the Information Technologies and Communications Authority (BTK). Adil Karaismailoğlu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, opened the two-day summit. Metin Akbaş, General Manager of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), will make a presentation at the summit where the railways stand and share his 165 years of experience with the visitors.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu opened the 'SUMMITS 3rd International Intelligent Transportation Systems Summit', held at the Information and Technologies Authority, where projects in the field of smart mobility and digitalization of transportation in Turkey will be explained.

In his opening speech, Karaismailoğlu stated that in the last 20 years, the transportation and communication sectors in Turkey have drawn new routes and discussed global trends. Karaismailoglu; “Under the headings of 'logistics-mobility-digitalization', we have determined future growth potentials and realistic targets with the right strategies and policies for these areas. We have developed our projects and development areas within the framework of the 'Transportation and Logistics Master Plan', taking these trends into account. We said 'the way of the mind in transportation', we brought smart transportation systems to the new Turkey within the framework of today's and future needs. We improve the safety of navigation in the seas and straits of our country with information and new generation communication systems. "We have accelerated our satellite and space studies to strengthen our presence in the Space Vatan," he said.

Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they aim to provide citizens with a safer, comfortable, safe and environmentally friendly transportation system with smart transportation systems; “Integrating the field of intelligent transportation systems with all transportation modes, using up-to-date technologies, benefiting from domestic and national resources; We are working hard to establish an efficient, safe, effective, innovative, dynamic, environmentally friendly, value-added and sustainable smart transportation network. Advanced software systems used in all highways of Turkey allow coordinated management of millions of data. New standards are set for airports to maximize flight and passenger safety. The value of air transportation is increasing with the contribution of information and informatics. The steps towards passenger and freight transportation in maritime transportation gain strength with a holistic and detailed view of smart systems. The railway networks, which are increasing day by day, are arranged in line with the current and contemporary needs with smart driver support systems to increase driving safety.” he said.

TCDD's stand took its place at the SUMMITS 3rd AUS Summit, where experts in the field of smart mobility and digitalization of transportation shared their experiences.
