KBU Student Affairs Department Head Özcan Büyükgenç shared the following information about the project: “The project, which was carried out within the scope of a protocol jointly signed by our Rector and President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, started about 4 months ago. 300 willing students were given training on foreign trade. The tricks of foreign trade were explained. It was a 45 hour training. We then took 300 of our students to a written exam. We reduced the result of this written exam to the top 100 students. Then, we interviewed the students in the commission established by business people last week, and within the scope of that interview, we reduced the number of students to 50. These students will work with our companies that trade and export for about 3 months, and they will also take part in a trip as part of such a cultural event. On this occasion, we are at Keltepe Ski Center today. ”

Emphasizing that Karabük University has international students from 97 different countries, Büyükgenç said, “We do not want our students involved in the project to be cultural ambassadors between Turkey and their own countries, but also to be a commercial attaché. We attach great importance to this in terms of both the economic development of our city, the economic development of our country and the economic development of their own countries. It is a project that we are carrying out in that denominator.” he said.

Karabük Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Cem Biçen shared his thoughts on the project and made the following statements in his speech: “We are very happy to have a university like Karabük University. It is a very enterprising, visionary university. Our students add great value here from the countries and provinces they come from. We need to benefit from the values they have created and this is a great potential. Recently, our international students have also been included in our university and they have added a different value. As we saw this potential, we, as Karabük Chamber of Industry, saw that we would benefit from these friends in the development of foreign trade of both our province and our country, and we planned to conduct a study to develop common foreign trade with them. We developed this project.”

Rabia Yeşilyurt, a student at Karabük University Faculty of Business Administration, Department of International Relations (English), stated that she wants to work in big companies in the field of trade in the future and said that this protocol is the first step for her.
