“Proper nutrition is very important in preventing diseases”

Orhan Aydoğdu, Secretary General of the Federation of Family Physicians Associations; “Family physicians are very important people who can touch the person from the first breath to the last breath, and in this respect, they play a very important role in the future of public health. When we look at the causes of diseases, environmental factors are very important, although there are several main causes. The most important reason among environmental factors can be seen as nutrition. Just as the individual has a very important responsibility here, he also imposes responsibilities on us family physicians within the framework of preventive medicine. Being able to prevent the disease before it becomes sick is both essential for creating a healthier society and is very important to alleviate the heavy burden of health expenses on the economy. For this reason, I am sure that the fact that nutrition education will be provided by experts in the field, both online and offline, through the AHEF portal, where 20 thousand family physicians are registered, will have very positive results in the short and medium term, and I am sure that we will see its reflections in the construction of a healthier society. I would like to thank all physicians and the Sabri Ülker Foundation.”
