The election law proposal prepared by AK Party Deputy Chairman Hayati Yazıcı and MHP Deputy Chairman Feti Yıldız was presented to the Parliament.

Some of the headlines from the descriptions are as follows:

“The most critical change in the regulation to be submitted with the joint signature of the AK Party and MHP will be the election threshold. Accordingly, the proposal envisages lowering the election threshold to 7 percent.

The requirement for parties to form a group for elections is abolished. According to the regulation, parties will have to complete their organization in at least 6 provinces 41 months before the election. With this article, the transfer of deputies will be prevented.

It will not be possible to replace the electoral rolls shortly before the elections. For this, the address where the voter has been constantly in the last year will be taken into account. Obligatory cases such as appointment and assignment will be excluded.

He will be able to vote at the last address that is not in the registration system. A clause is added to those who do not appear in the system because their address is closed, and they continue where they are the last voter. With its eleventh article, we are making arrangements for harmonization with the Presidential Government System.”
