Bursa Textile Show, the biggest fair of the region in the field of clothing fabric, opened its doors. Nearly 60 industry professionals from 400 countries attended the fair, which was organized under the leadership of Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), the umbrella organization of the Bursa business world. The fair, which will remain open for 3 days, will make a significant contribution to the export targets of the textile industry for 2022.

At the Bursa Textile Show Fair, which has grown and become an important brand in Turkey with each passing year, 128 companies presented their Spring/Summer clothing fabric collections of 2023 to the visitors. The fair, which took place in Bursa, one of the leading cities of the textile industry, was organized under the leadership of BTSO with the cooperation of the Ministry of Trade, UTİB and KOSGEB. In the fair, which will remain open until Thursday, March 17, at Merinos AKKM, experts in their fields made trend presentations, while international and domestic participant companies met at the same table with the sector representatives in the city. In addition, thanks to the B2B organization organized in a separate area from the fairground, Bursa companies have the opportunity to have one-on-one business meetings with foreign procurement committees brought to Bursa with the support of the Ministry of Commerce.

“TEXTILE IS ONE OF OUR STRONGEST SECTORS”

BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay stated that the fair will contribute to both Bursa and Turkey's exports. Stating that as BTSO, they have implemented important projects to increase the foreign trade of their members, Burkay said, “There are some strategic sectors that highlight cities and countries. The textile and apparel industry is one of them. If Turkey exported 2021 billion dollars in 225, 30,7 billion dollars of this belongs to the textile and apparel industry. Today, the textile and apparel industry in Bursa is one of the strongest sectors after automotive with its export of 3 billion dollars.” said.

“BURSA, THE CENTRAL SETTING THE TRENDS”

President Burkay said that Bursa is the center that determines the 2022-2023 trends in textile. “The designers and trend offices in Bursa are spreading all the trends that shape fashion to the world from their own companies and offices here.” Referring to his statements, Chairman Burkay said, “We are very happy to see these at the fair. Our participants from Europe and North America increased. This is a welcome element. The fact that Turkey is the strongest country in terms of production in its region has also brought it to be without alternatives in a sense. Players from all over the world in all areas of the industry, especially in textile and apparel, actively participate in the organizations held in Turkey. This fair showed us the hope that Bursa and Turkey's exports will set new records in 2022.” used the phrases.

“EXAMPLE FAIR IN TURKEY”

Bursa Governor Yakup Canbolat stated that business people from nearly 60 countries coming to the fair will sign important collaborations with Turkish textile companies and said, “Bursa Textile Show was an organization that achieved its purpose in the sector. The fair has developed itself and has now come to a position that can set an example for other provinces. It was also a serious occasion for the promotion of Bursa's textile and the establishment of export links to the world. I would like to thank our BTSO President İbrahim Burkay and his managers, UTİB President Pınar Taşdelen Engin and his team who contributed to this issue. The fair was very nice in terms of seeing the level, quality and added value that Bursa has reached in textile.” he said.

“BURSA TEXTILE SHOW WAS AN AMBIENT ORGANIZATION IN THE INDUSTRY”

Bursa Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Alinur Aktaş started his speech by thanking all institutions, especially BTSO, who contributed to the realization of Bursa Textile Show Fair. Expressing that Bursa is a city with a deep history in textile and weaving, Aktaş said, “The point the fair has reached is really enviable. Despite the pandemic and the economic process, all our companies are assertive and well prepared. This is a sign that things will get better. Bursa, an automotive city, is also a textile city. Bursa has clearly demonstrated this claim in textile with this organization. Overcoming the effects of the two-year-old pandemic as soon as possible will open new doors to Bursa. Our industry representatives follow the whole world closely. They compete for export in all geographies. I believe that in a few years our BURTEX fair will reach a different position. I sincerely congratulate our BTSO President İbrahim Burkay, our Parliament Speaker Ali Uğur and the BTSO board members, who contributed to the fair and put forth their hard work.” said.

“FAIR IS STRENGTHENING EVERY PERIOD”

Uludağ Textile Exporters' Association (UTİB) President Pınar Engin Taşdelen stated that the fair was very successful and added new successes every year and said, “Now, our Bursa textile has become a sector that follows the trends and creates the trends. Our fair is adding more and more successes every year. Although it is held in Bursa, we welcome visitors from all over Turkey and from many parts of the world.” he said.

BTSO Assembly President Ali Uğur underlined that the fair adds great value to Bursa and the city, and said, “BURTEX will make very serious contributions to the future of our industry. I believe that our fair will continue to grow every year. I would like to thank everyone who contributed." said.
