Arrangement from Konya Metropolitan to Relieve Belh Junction

Konya Metropolitan Municipality continues to make arrangements at the intersections with heavy traffic in the city center.

Konya Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Uğur İbrahim Altay stated that they contributed to the reduction of waiting time in traffic, fuel savings and reduction of carbon emissions with the physical arrangements they made at intersections with high vehicle density.

In this context, Mayor Altay stated that they started physical arrangement work at Belh Junction on Ankara Street and said that they would implement the Dynamic Junction Control System at the junction after the arrangement. Noting that the waiting times at the intersection will decrease after the arrangement they have made, Mayor Altay said, “An average of 65 thousand vehicles use the Belh Junction daily. With the arrangement we made here, we will both shorten the waiting time of our drivers in traffic and reduce carbon emissions, and we will bring about 40 trees to nature every day. As discussed in the Climate Council held in our city, these studies that will reduce carbon emissions in Konya, which is the city most affected by climate change, are extremely important. I would also like to thank our fellow citizens for their understanding during this process. Within the scope of planning, we will continue to make arrangements that will make our city's traffic more fluid and reduce carbon emissions." he said.

During the arrangement works carried out by Konya Metropolitan Municipality at the junction, the traffic flow is controlled.
