The power plant, which entered the record books, went down in history as the world's largest stadium-mounted solar power plant in terms of its installed power. The solar power plant installed on the roof of the Ali Sami Yen Sports Complex Nef Stadium by Galatasaray, the team of firsts and greatest, and Enerjisa Energy, the pioneer and leading company of the Turkish electricity distribution and retail sales sector, started production. It managed to enter the Guinness Book of Records with the title of the world's largest on-stadium solar power plant in terms of installed capacity and went down in history.
The entire investment financing of the facility, which was established on a total area of 40 thousand square meters, was provided by Enerjisa Enerji, amounting to approximately 20 million TL. Thanks to the solar energy facility established with the Performance Based Business Model, the stadium will also be a role model in energy saving by producing its own electricity.
Electricity equivalent to the consumption of 2 thousand households will be produced
The facility, which will generate electricity from the sun, which is a 3.250% renewable and clean energy source, will prevent the emission of approximately 200 tons of CO₂ every year, and in this way, it will contribute to the protection of nature by preventing the release of greenhouse gas that 25 thousand trees can clean in the atmosphere in 10 years. With more than 4,2 thousand solar panels installed on the roof of the stadium, an installed power capacity of 2.000 MW will be reached and it is the largest capacity solar power plant among stadiums in the world. The installed panels will generate 4.650 MWh of electricity, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 10 households per year. Within the scope of the Energy Performance Model, the maintenance of the facility for XNUMX years will be carried out by Enerjisa Energy.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony of the project, Galatasaray SK President Burak Elmas said: “Work on establishing a Solar Power Plant on the roof of our stadium, which will operate with high performance and with which we can achieve the highest efficiency, started during the administration of our 37th President, the late Mustafa Cengiz, and concluded with the works in our period. The most important feature of this project is that it is the “largest Solar Power Plant in terms of installed power” installed on the roof of a football stadium in the world. On the other hand, it has the distinction of being the first project to be implemented with a Performance Based Business Model on the roof of a stadium in Turkey. We completed our project on time. As Galatasaray Sports Club, we are aware of the importance of using energy produced from domestic and renewable resources. We know that the way to reduce our country's dependence on foreign energy and to create employment is to use our energy correctly. We, whose tradition is hope, are working to leave a livable world to future generations.
