ABB Organized a Run for Pandemic Martyrs Paramedics

The Metropolitan Municipality, which stands by the health workers in many issues such as free transportation during the pandemic period and free soup service in the winter months, did not forget the health workers who lost their lives. Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, in cooperation with the Turkish Emergency Medicine Association, hosted the “14 March Medicine Day Run” in Eymir Lake for the first time this year. Healthcare professionals and residents of Başkent showed great interest in the running event, which was colored with concerts and sports activities.

Continuing to sign people-oriented projects, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its work for healthcare workers without slowing down.

ABB Youth and Sports Services Department organized the “14 March Medicine Day Run” in Eymir Lake in cooperation with the Turkish Emergency Medicine Association. In the run, which was held for the first time this year, steps were taken this time in memory of the healthcare workers who lost their lives during the pandemic period.

HEALTHCARE WORKERS WHO LOSE LIVES ARE NOT FORGOTTEN

Mustafa Artunç, Head of Youth and Sports Services Department of ABB, who expressed their happiness at the great interest shown by the healthcare professionals and the citizens of the Capital, said, “We owe our gratitude to our healthcare professionals, especially during the pandemic period. In any case, I would like to express our gratitude to our healthcare professionals who work for us. As Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, we are always with the health workers.”

Turkish Emergency Medicine Association Chairman of the Board Prof. Dr. Serkan Yılmaz thanked the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality and said, "It has been 2 years since the pandemic started and we lost many of our colleagues in this process. We wanted to unite this normalization process and 14 March Medicine Day. Our Ankara Metropolitan Municipality gave us great support in this regard. Thanks to them, we were able to come together here. We would like to thank our President Mansur Yavaş and his team.”

While the event, where the Metropolitan Municipality offered soup, became more colorful with concerts and sports activities, the citizens who participated in the run expressed their thoughts with the following words:

Medina Modiovic: “I am participating in the race from Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am a medical student. I'm here for a run on Medicine Day. I wanted to support.”

Nurettin Elbir: “I am 95 years old. We participated in the race on behalf of the Turkish Foresters Association. We are here to celebrate the Medicine Day of all healthcare professionals on behalf of our association. It is an honor and an honor for us.”

Banu Cakir: “I am a doctor at Gülhane Hospital. This event made me very happy. The pandemic process has worn us all down. I ran especially for the healthcare workers who lost their lives. Thank you very much for organizing such a race.”

Berfin Yalcin: “I am a medical student. I ran for years where doctors were not subjected to violence and worked under the conditions they deserved. I want us to celebrate our holidays happily.”

Dilara Korkmaz: “I am a medical student. I ran so that mobbing ended, violence ended, and we had happier years.”

Kutlay Trump: “I join the race from Ankara. First of all, I congratulate the medical staff on the Medicine Day. Thank you very much to whoever contributed to the organization. It was a very good organization and we look forward to the continuation. Life is better with sports.”

Riza Demir: “I participated in the run as Ankara's oldest athlete. To celebrate the Medical Day of healthcare workers. I would like to thank Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş for organizing such an organization.”
