“As the Rize Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we have come together with the press of our city to evaluate the agenda. I thank you all for accepting our invitation. Our media is very valuable to us. The contribution of the press is great, especially in terms of creating public opinion in the projects made for our city.
Our Rize-Artvin Airport will be put into service in the following days with trial flights in April. During the process, we went to visit our airport on average 2 times a month. I think that our Airport Manager, Fikret Akbulut, is a chance for us. I can say that our manager, who has built an airport from scratch 3 times before, carries out the process well with his experience. We are happy that he is a sharer and a person who values the region. We will all benefit from him as Rize and Rize residents. We have high expectations from our airport. He has a lot to add to our city. It will play a very important role in the development of our city, contributing to vision projects, and promoting it at home and abroad. I wish you good luck and success. On behalf of my Chamber and members, I would like to express my gratitude to all those who contributed to this project, especially to our Honorable President, who gave the instructions for its construction here.
Another issue, as you know, is one of our indispensable projects, the logistics center project. As our Chamber, we attached great importance to this project. Our university and our commodity exchange made significant contributions here, and our project came to a certain point with the contributions of our professors from Boğaziçi University and Istanbul Technical University. Filling work continues today. I think it will become one of the most important arteries on the south-north axis of Rize when it becomes operational. Of course, making a Logistics Center is not enough. There are some parts of our Rize Mardin Love Road Project that have not been tendered yet. Even if the logistics center is completed, we cannot achieve sufficient efficiency before these sections are completed. In this sense, I would like to express that we expect the missing road and tunnel constructions on this route to be completed as soon as possible. In addition, our logistics center on the north-south axis must be supported by a railway line. In December of last year, we visited the eastern and southeastern provinces. We visited the provinces of Diyarbakir, Malatya, Elazig, Mardin, Bingol and Erzurum. A logistics center is being established in Diyarbakir in that region. What we want to do as Oda is to integrate the logistics center there with our Rize Iyidere Logistics Center. Our work in this direction continues. I would also like to thank our press for the support of the logistics center. These projects are not only vision projects of our province and region, but also of our country.
