Slow: All Facilities of the Municipality Will Be Mobilized

Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş stated that private public transportation tradesmen will not be able to continue their services as of Thursday, March 10, 2022, due to the economic difficulties, and announced that the Municipality's facilities will be mobilized so that citizens are not adversely affected.

In his statement, Ankara Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mahsur Yavaş said, “The private public bus and dolmuş shops in Ankara demand that the transportation cost be at least 8 liras in the face of economic difficulties and increasing fuel costs. Private public transport tradesmen also demand that the cost of free transport determined by the Ministry of Family and Social Services be covered by our Municipality. In today's economic conditions, neither our citizens nor our Municipality can meet these demands.

Private public transport tradesmen have stated that they will not be able to continue their services as of Thursday, March 10, 2022 under these conditions. In this process, all the possibilities of our Municipality will be mobilized so that our citizens are not adversely affected. However, we think that it would be appropriate for our citizens to prefer their private vehicles, if they have the opportunity, until a solution is produced so that they do not suffer from unjust treatment.

I would like it to be known that our efforts to produce solutions that will not be victimized by our citizens and tradesmen in the face of increasing fuel costs continue uninterruptedly. I respectfully inform my dear fellow countrymen.”
