President of the Republic of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani, delegation from Kosovo and Baykar Teknoloji officials; Bayraktar took a photo in front of the TB2 SİHA. Then, a model of AKINCI TİHA was presented to President Vjosa Osmani. The visit of the President of Kosovo Vjosa Osmani to Baykar Teknoloji is considered as a signal for the procurement of Bayraktar TB2 SİHA.
An agreement was signed for the production of Bayraktar TB2 SİHA in Ukraine
On February 3, 2022, President Erdogan and President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelenskiy held the 10th Meeting of the Turkey-Ukraine High Level Strategic Council. President of Ukraine Zelenskiy announced at the joint press conference that an agreement was signed for the production of Bayraktar TB2 SİHA, a product of Baykar Technology. In the statement made by the Republic of Turkey Directorate of Communications, it was announced that a Framework Agreement was signed between the Government of the Republic of Turkey and the Government of Ukraine on Cooperation in the Field of High Technology and Aviation/Space Industry.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy emphasized that special attention was given to cooperation in the defense and aerospace sectors during the talks and said, “This is one of the locomotives of our strategic partnership. Our goal is to realize certain projects, create joint ventures, exchange experience and technology”.
The claim that Iraq will supply Bayraktar TB2S with SATCOM integration
According to Iraqi sources, it was claimed that the Iraqi Ministry of Defense signed a contract for the supply of three ground control stations and 2021+8 system Bayraktar TB4S S/UAV in early November 2. In this context, negotiations and official meetings were held until 2020, before the contract was signed.
According to the news published by Al-Araby and based on top Iraqi sources, the armament budget of the Iraqi Army was discussed at the Iraqi Council of Ministers held on December 2, 2021. Within the scope of the armament budget, it was stated that Iraq wanted to procure 100 million dollars worth of Bayraktar TB2 SİHA and related equipment. In this context, it is stated that Bayraktar TB2 S/UAV systems will be used to ensure the security of desert and mountainous regions, especially the Iraq-Syria border. It is also stated that the Iraqi Council of Ministers has approved a number of changes in the armament plans of the air force, apart from the purchase of Turkish SİHAs.
