Speaking at the fair, where the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality's stand is also located, Mayor Soyer said that gastronomy is no longer just a title consisting of taste, and said, “Gastronomy is also about healthy and sustainable food, agriculture and tourism. Therefore, it is necessary to fill it more. This is why these fairs are so important.”

The fair, which was opened at the Mesopotamia International Fair and Congress Center, was hosted by the Governorship of Diyarbakir, under the main sponsorship of the Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality, and with the support of the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB), Diyarbakir Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Visit İzmir, which is among the prominent works of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality in tourism, and Orange Circle applications, which were started during the pandemic period, were also introduced at the fair.

24 exhibitors from 27 countries and 2 cities take part in the fair, which was held between 11-121 March. It is aimed to brand Adıyaman, Batman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Kilis, Mardin, Siirt, Şanlıurfa and Şırnak in the region under a single name as “Mesopotamia”. Bursa is the partner city of the fair, which aims to make the region an important sustainable tourism destination. In the fair where TRNC is also a partner country, there are also partner cities of Erbil, Sulaymaniyah and Dohok from Northern Iraq. In addition to the touristic values ​​of the 9 provinces in the region, the cultural, historical, religious and gastronomic assets of the region and its unique tourism potential are displayed in the stands.
