In Alpullu town of Babaeski district of Kırklareli, 27 people were injured when the freight train hit the service minibus carrying the workers at the level crossing.

As a result of the accident, 27 people in the service were injured. Upon the notification, many health, AFAD and fire crews were sent to the region. The injured were taken to Alpullu and Babaeski State Hospitals.

Kırklareli Governor Osman Bilgin, who came to the scene, stated that it was a consolation that no one died in the accident and wished a speedy recovery to the injured. Governor Bilgin said, “27 of our citizens were injured when a freight train hit the service that was trying to pass through the barrier while the barrier was closed. Thankfully, a much sadder accident did not occur as the shuttle service did not enter the train track. I wish all our compatriots from Kırklareli to get well soon," he said.

Today (10.03.2022) Kapıkule-Çerkezköy An accident occurred at the level crossing at the entrance of Hayrabolu Mevkii-Alpullu Station on the line, as a result of the insistence of the road vehicle driver to cross, despite the barrier being closed.

While the train, which was advancing on the railway on this line, was passing through the level crossing at the entrance of the Hayrabolu Mevkii Alpullu station at around 07.10, the road vehicle driver crashed into the train while trying to pass through the closed barrier even though the train had arrived. As a result of the collision, 27 passengers in the minibus were slightly injured, and the railway was closed to train traffic for a while as the vehicle prevented train traffic.

A judicial and administrative investigation has been initiated regarding the incident.
