Gökmen Aerospace Training Center (GUHEM), Europe's largest space and aviation themed training center, hosted Selçuk Bayraktar, Baykar Technology Leader and Chairman of the T3 Foundation Board of Trustees. Stating that they held TEKNOFEST with the motto "Let a child come and touch an airplane", Bayraktar emphasized that GUHEM is a center that will instill the love of space and aviation in children.

The support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology; Baykar Technology Leader and T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Bayraktar visited GUHEM, which was implemented in cooperation with Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BTSO), Bursa Metropolitan Municipality and TÜBİTAK. Selcuk Bayraktar, who experienced the interactive mechanisms in the center together with BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay, received information about the work of the center.

“BURSA PLAYS A ROLE IN TURKEY'S GROWTH”

Baykar Technology Leader and T3 Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Selçuk Bayraktar said that Bursa is the locomotive of Turkey's economy. Noting that Bursa has important brands in the automotive field, Bayraktar said, “I think such an established infrastructure will play a very important role in the transformation of our country into a model that develops high technology. Cities with production accumulation played a very important role in the transition from medium-high technology to high technology. Hopefully, Bursa will continue to maintain this role for the future of Turkey in the coming years.” said.

“GUHEM ALLOWS OUR CHILDREN TO TOUCH THE AIRCRAFT”

Selçuk Bayraktar emphasized that GUHEM is a center that will instill the love of aviation and space in children. Stating that GUHEM aims to teach scientific concepts by experiencing, Selçuk Bayraktar said, “At the center, together with the basic science approach, space and aviation issues are discussed from the ground up. Especially the explanation of the aviation exhibition starting from the anatomy of birds caught my attention. Every mechanism here is interactive. There are very interesting areas especially for our young brothers. We are holding TEKNOFEST with the motto "Let a child come and touch an airplane". Of course, TEKNOFEST takes 6 days a year. But GUHEM gives our children the opportunity to touch the plane every day. I think GUHEM and similar centers are very valuable to instill a love of space and aviation. In this sense, I would like to express my gratitude to the Ministry of Industry and Technology, especially BTSO, for putting this center into practice.” said.

“THE TOP 5 CENTERS IN THE WORLD”

BTSO Chairman of the Board İbrahim Burkay said that GUHEM, one of the most important outputs of the Gökmen Project, which was introduced in 2013, is an awareness center. Stating that Turkey, which aims to be among the largest economies in the world, should have a say in the field of space and aviation, Burkay said, “It is a great source of pride for us that GUHEM, which started as a dream, is today one of the top five centers in the field of space and aviation in the world. Both our Metropolitan Municipality and TÜBİTAK made very valuable contributions to the project. In fact, centers like GUHEM play the role of a transformation center. Turkey is now able to produce satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles and many other unique technologies with its own capabilities. With the contributions of GUHEM, which will be an important playground for studies on space and aviation, our country will undertake new studies that will reveal its own identity in space technologies.” said.
