This year, İzmir does not let go of its title as the “capital of fairs”. İzmir will host nearly 31 million visitors, 8 thousand of which are local and foreign participants, in 2 fairs to be held this year. The fairs are expected to contribute approximately $100 million to the city's economy and create a business volume of $5 billion.
Stating that they did not give up organizing fairs with the help of virtual fairs even in the pandemic, President Soyer said, “Izmir is a leading city in Turkey in the fair culture that started with the Economics Congress. We are crowning this leadership of İzmir with new fairs. We see fairs as a tool in the fight against poverty and crisis. While planning new fairs, we carefully examine the production and export trends of İzmir and Turkey, and give priority to the service, manufacturing and industry, agriculture and food sectors. We are spreading our fairs to four seasons with the aim of increasing the welfare of our city and ensuring its fair share. We protect the heritage of our ancestors, we expand our fairs, which force the top of the world rankings, we contribute to the increase of international recognition of Izmir and the development of our country. What are the new fairs?
While İZFAŞ adds Terra Madre, Flowera, Logistech fairs to its calendar, the fair organizations with which it cooperates with Wecycle, Brandex, IBS Mother, Baby and Child, Road2 Tunnel, R&D P&D Innovation Industry and Technologies, İmatech and Construction, Real Estate and Urban Transformation fairs. will be implemented with Terra Madre Gastronomy Fair, Terra Madre Anadolu İzmir, which is held every two years in Italy under the leadership of the world's largest food movement Slow Food, will be organized at Kültürpark on September 2 – 11 this year.
