The new energy-based automobile industry in China has entered a new stage of high-quality rapid development. The 3-day 2022 China Electric Vehicle Forum ended yesterday. According to the information received from the forum, both the production and sales of new energy vehicles in China exceeded 2021 million units for the first time in 3,5.

China's sales of new energy-based vehicles have been holding the first place in the world for the 7th consecutive year. With the growth of market scale, the level of related technologies is also rising.

Guangzhou-based company GAC AION is transforming the traditional fuel vehicle production line of co-owned vehicles into a new energy-based vehicle production line. Gu Huinan, General Manager of the company, said in a statement that they have their own technologies in the fields of battery, engine and electronic control and they are developing fully autonomous driving technology.

On the other hand, 515 hydrogen-fueled buses produced by Beijing-based FOTON company played an important role in the recently ended Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics.

Ouyang Minggao, an expert from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, noted that China has started subsidizing the use of hydrogen fuel cells in some pilot cities, with Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Zhengzhou and Zhangjiakou among the first pilot cities.

So far, more than 60 policies and more than 150 standards have been announced to support the development of new energy-based vehicles at the national level, and more than 500 additional policies have been announced by the management at various levels. Thus, the strongest legislation in the world supporting new energy-based vehicles was created in China.

Guo Shougang from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China emphasized that electrification of public vehicles will be promoted in pilot cities, and the proportion of new-energy vehicles will be increased among public buses, taxis, logistics vehicles.
