The project of the century 1915 Çanakkale Bridge was opened with the presence of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu, emphasizing that they have further clarified the targeted new Turkey photo, said, “As a project of the best, firsts and records, one of the landmarks of our country is meeting with its nation today. There is a big picture in the middle, 'Great and Powerful Turkey' picture," he said.
President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan attended the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge and Malkara-Çanakkale Highway opening ceremony. Speaking at the opening, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “In the unique atmosphere of this spiritual day where we celebrate the 107th anniversary of the glorious resistance of our War of Independence, the first front of our War of Independence, the 1915th anniversary of the Çanakkale Naval Victory, in which the power of the Turks was re-displayed throughout the world, the most important part of our Republic's history. We are proud and happy to present one of the major transportation projects, Malkara-Çanakkale Highway and XNUMX Çanakkale Bridge, to the service of our nation and the whole world.
Emphasizing that with the project, Turkey is one step closer to becoming one of the biggest in the world in investment, production, exports and employment, Karaismailoğlu said that the 1915 Çanakkale Bridge is a masterpiece that will befit the memory of the Çanakkale Epic and seal the glorious history as a monument.
THERE IS A “BIG” AND “STRONG” TURKEY PICTURE IN THE MIDDLE
Minister of Transport Karaismailoğlu said, “The architectural design and technical features of our bridge carry the epic of the century to today” and continued his speech as follows:
“As a project of the bests, firsts and records, one of the landmarks of our country is meeting with its people today. There is a big picture in the middle, 'Great and Powerful Turkey' picture. Under your leadership, all the investments that have been made and all the works that have emerged are brushstrokes on this painting one by one. With our highway and bridge coming into service, the transportation, production, industry, trade, tourism and service sectors of Western Anatolia, the Aegean and even the Western Mediterranean Region, together with Thrace, will be revitalized. It will contribute to the uninterrupted trade route from Beijing to London.”
ROAD WILL BE SHORTENED 40 KILOMETER, TRANSITION TIME WILL BE 6 MINUTES
Pointing out that the highway has shortened by 40 kilometers compared to the current road, Karaismailoğlu said, “The transit time through the Dardanelles, which took hours by ferry, is now only 6 minutes… Our project was completed 1,5 years ago with the outstanding success in the construction works. Even this project alone is a good example that shows how beneficial the Build-Operate-Transfer projects with Public-Private Cooperation are on a global scale. While Turkey is reaching its goal of becoming a 'global logistics base', the necessary infrastructure for Turkey's 2053 Vision is already being prepared with the transportation and infrastructure investments we have implemented within the framework of the Transport and Logistics Master Plan, which requires having a vision, contrary to the shallow daily political discussions. Our aim is to contribute to the competitiveness of our country and to increase the quality of life of the society; It is a safe, economical, comfortable, environmentally friendly, uninterrupted, balanced, smart and sustainable transportation system.

Expressing that they have further clarified the targeted new Turkey photo, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu made the following assessments;
