Head of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir answered Hakan Çelik's questions in the CNN Türk broadcast and explained the developments in the Turkish defense industry. Demir stated that besides Baykar, TAI is also working on jet powered combat unmanned aerial vehicles. Demir stated that we will see jet-powered UAVs and SİHAs soon, and pointed to 2023 for a concrete solution. Demir did not give any details about what kind of combat unmanned aerial vehicle TAI is working on.

As it is known, Baykar continues to work on the MİUS (Combat Unmanned Aircraft System), which is planned to make its first flight in 2023. MİUS, which can carry 1.5 tons of payload, is planned to perform strategic attack, close air support, missile attack and SEAD-DEAD missions. MİUS, which can take off from LHD type ships and land with the help of catch cables and hooks, is also expected to perform duties together with Bayraktar TB3.
