Ankara public transport fares were increased by 44 percent. For ANKARAY, metro, EGO buses, and ÖHO and ÖTAs, the full boarding fee has been increased from 4,5 TL to 6,5 TL, and the student boarding fee has been increased from 2,5 TL to 3,5 TL. The fees determined by the Ankara Transportation Coordination Center (UKOME) General Assembly will be valid as of Sunday, January 15.

In the written statement made by the EGO General Directorate, “The price tariff applied in public transport vehicles has been taken to the agenda by UKOME due to the increase in fuel prices and the increasing costs without interruption.

In line with the decision taken by UKOME, as of Tuesday, March 15, 2022, the full ticket amount will be 6,5 TL, the discounted ticket amount will be 3,5 TL and the student subscription fee will be 90 TL per month as 225 boarding passes.

Since the previous price increase on January 5, 2022, costs have increased by 70% on average, only fuel prices have increased by 79%.

Due to the increasing fuel costs, the tradesmen of the Private Public Buses demanded that the price be at least 8 TL. Our Mayor of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality, Mr. Mansur Yavaş, stated the transportation cost as 10,5 TL and announced that the Municipality would subsidize the difference, therefore the increase rate was kept limited.” statements were included.
