The Ministry of Culture and Tourism announced its support for script and dialogue writing, short film production and animation film production.
For the support that will enable the development of Turkish cinema and the young people to step into the sector through the production of new and qualified works, an evaluation was made by the 8-person committee consisting of the representatives of the cinema sector and the Ministry. As a result of the evaluation, it was decided to support 30 thousand liras for 624 script and dialogue writing projects, 31 thousand liras for 975 short film production projects, and 4 thousand liras for 215 animation film production projects, with a total of 65 million 1 thousand liras support for 814 projects.
The increase in the number of female screenwriters and directors who received support was remarkable. While the rate of women who received support in the scenario genre was 50 percent, and 30 percent in the type of short film production, all those who received support in the genre of animation film production consisted of female directors.
Within the scope of cinema supports that will continue in the coming months, applications for first feature fiction film production, feature film production, distribution and promotion, co-production and post-production support will be evaluated in March, and documentary film support applications will be evaluated in May.
