Ankara-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train (YHT) Project will accelerate with a loan of 2,45 billion Euros from the UK. A 3,5 percent progress was achieved in the infrastructure works in the Afyonkarahisar-İzmir section of the YHT line, which will reduce the travel time between the two provinces to 52 hours.

Speaking at the Railway-İş Union Consultation Meeting, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that they have achieved 99% physical progress in the infrastructure construction works of the Ankara-Sivas YHT line. Karaismailoğlu said, “When the project is completed, the rail travel time between Ankara-Sivas will decrease from 12 hours to 2 hours,” Karaismailoğlu said, “In addition, we include 1,5 million citizens of Kayseri on the YHT line with our Yerköy-Kayseri High Speed ​​​​Train Line. He said that Kayseri, one of the important trade centers of Central Anatolia, also gets its share from the YHT mobilization.

Karaismailoğlu, Ankara-İzmir High Speed ​​​​Train line is another important project of ours. We achieved 52 percent physical progress in infrastructure works. With this project, we will reduce the rail travel time between Ankara and İzmir from 14 hours to 3,5 hours. When finished, we aim to transport approximately 525 million passengers and 13,5 million tons of cargo per year over a distance of 90 kilometers.
