His funeral will be held at Zeytinburnu Seyitnizam Mosque after the afternoon prayer on Wednesday. In 2001, we made an album from the same record company and participated in live broadcasts. Who is Arif Senturk?
Arif Şentürk (born 1941, Kumanovo, Kingdom of Yugoslavia, died February 15, 2022; Turkey) is a Turkish folk music artist, compiler and performer of Albanian and Bosnian origin. He is especially famous for his interpretations of Rumeli Folk Songs.
Born in Kumanova, Macedonia, Şentürk immigrated to Turkey with his family in 1956 after completing his primary and secondary education in a Turkish school located here. The family first settled in Kırklareli, then moved to the Zeytinburnu district of Istanbul. Şentürk, who studied music at Bakırköy and Yeşilköy Community Center Music School, was successful in the TRT Amateur Voices Exam in 1975 and was supported by Nida Tüfekçi. Şentürk, who has recorded a total of 12 albums throughout his musical life, gained acclaim with Rumelian folk songs such as Deryalar, Ramize and Safiye, which he compiled from regions such as Macedonia, Kosovo, Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Greece.
