Combat Search and Rescue (MAK) Group Chief Police officers, working under the General Directorate of Security Special Operations Presidency, continue their training in all kinds of harsh conditions, whether it's snow or winter.
Volunteer, highly skilled and passing through various elimination stages among the Police chiefs and officers from the Special Operations branch, the Police keep themselves ready for duty by training under difficult conditions on Mount Erciyes, the peak of Central Anatolia.
In Erciyes, Special Operations Police, who received search and rescue training in winter conditions, walked up to the Çobanini location at an altitude of 3100, with skis and snowshoes called hedik, in order to improve their mobility and ensure its continuity.
On Mount Erciyes, the team, which goes beyond the possibilities and capabilities of other units and undergoes operational training that requires special training and equipment, also gains the ability to stay here for days by building an igloo snow house and a snow cave in order to provide their rest, food and shelter needs.
As part of the trainings, the MAK Team carries out an evacuation operation in adverse terrain conditions with the pulley system they set up on the slope in order to save the injured, lost and stranded personnel as per the exercise scenario.
While doing all these activities, the police are also trained to survive in adverse weather conditions such as snow and storms and in difficult terrain conditions.
Wearing his ski suits, Tim also does about 1000 meters of mountain skiing, armed and fully equipped.
The MAK team, which carries out their training in winter conditions, repeats these challenging trainings at regular intervals in order to be always ready for their duties and to ensure success.
