Due to the renovation works on Göztepe Martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay Pedestrian Overpass, the traffic flow in the 300-meter section of Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard is returning to its original state as of Monday, February 7th. Izmir Metropolitan Municipality announced that the work, which was planned to be completed on February 27, was completed 20 days ago.

Maintenance, repair and reinforcement works are continuing rapidly on Göztepe Martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay Pedestrian Overpass of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality on Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard. İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, which closed the 300-meter section of the bridge on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, Balçova-Konak direction on January 22, 2022, due to the renovation works, and reduced the traffic flow in this section from three lanes to two lanes, announced that the works were completed 20 days early. Traffic flow on this section of the boulevard will return to normal from Monday, February 7th.

It will open to the public in May.

Reinforcement will be made on the 1997-meter-long steel suspension bridge, which was opened as the Güzelyalı Overpass in 2010 and named after Kerem Oğuz Erbay, who was martyred in Iskenderun in 125. A wooden seating area will be created around the feet of the bridge. The existing coating on the walkway will be removed, and both the walkway and the railings will be renewed. The works, which will cost 6 million 100 thousand liras, will be completed in May.
