The national air defense missile system HİSAR O+ has gained a new capability. President of the Presidency of Defense Industry Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir announced the latest development on his social media accounts with the following statements:
“HİSAR started 2022 fast! In the first RF (Radio Frequency) Seeker Headed Test Missile of the HİSAR O+ System, the target was destroyed and a new capability was added to our air defense. While we continue mass production, our work on new talents will continue at full speed.”
The HİSAR O+ Air Defense Missile System was delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces with all its elements in the last days of 2021. The system, which was capable of launching an Infrared Seeker (IIR) Missile before, has now reached the ability to launch an RF (Radio Frequency) Seeker Missile with the final test shot.
In addition, the British Jet Banshee target aircraft, which was also included in the HİSAR-O+ test carried out last year, was used in the test. Jet Banshee, which has different models, can reach a speed of 720 km / h and can stay in the air for > 45 minutes. The aircraft, which can reach an altitude of 30 feet, has a range of 100 km. The twin-engine Jet Banshee 80+ version of the target aircraft, which has single-engine and twin-engine options, was used. Jet Banshee simulates 80+ high cruising speed targets, and has also been used in the tests of the Gökdeniz air defense system in the past.
HİSAR O+ Air Defense Missile System
As the Presidency Defense Industry Presidency Project, it was developed locally and nationally in cooperation with Aselsan-Roketsan. The warhead was developed by TÜBİTAK SAGE. The system, which has 360-degree efficiency, can engage and fire at least 9 targets at the same time. The prevention range of the HİSAR O+ System reaches 25 km.
Capable of operating in all weather conditions, HİSAR is effective against warplanes, helicopters, air-to-ground missiles, cruise missiles and armed/unarmed unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV/SİHA). Designed in accordance with the current needs and threats in our country, which has strategic and critical facilities, HİSAR will be a serious power multiplier in the country's air defense.
Developed with domestic and national resources, the HİSAR O+ System will perform point and regional air defense missions with its distributed and flexible architectural capability. The HİSAR O+ System has an organizational infrastructure in battery and battalion structures. System; It consists of Fire Control Center, Missile Launch System, Medium Altitude Air Defense Radar, Electro Optical System, Infrared Seeker Missile and RF Seeker Missile.
HİSAR A+ was first delivered to HİSAR air defense missile systems. The long-range air defense system, SİPER, which continues with test firing, is expected to be ready for use in 2023.
