Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Manager of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu and the accompanying delegation visited the Bursa-Orhaneli Road Doğancı Dam Tunnel construction site. Stating that they have invested over 29 billion 500 million liras for Bursa's transportation and communication investments, Karaismailoğlu emphasized that road investments have an important place among these investments. Karaismailoğlu said:

“While there were only 2003 kilometers of divided roads in Bursa in 194, we made 406 kilometers of roads and increased the road length in this standard to 600 kilometers. I would like to emphasize that almost half of the highways throughout the province are divided roads. We also took the bituminous hot mix paved road length from 148 kilometers and increased it to 766 kilometers. We have built a single road of 278 kilometers across the province of Bursa. We built 1 tunnels, 3 of which is single tube and 13 of which is double tube, with a total length of 129 thousand 4 meters. The total length of the 274 bridges we have built in the province reaches 20 kilometers. The total project cost of 801 different highway investments still in progress throughout Bursa; It is over 18 billion 3 million liras.”

“Dürdane Junction Bridge Interchange reduced the traffic density in the region”

Reminding that they completed the Dürdane Junction Bridge Interchange on the Bursa-Yalova State Road, one of the important sections on the Istanbul-Bursa-Izmir route, and put it into service on March 15, 2021, our Minister Karaismailoğlu said that the 55-meter-long and 17-meter-wide Dürdane Junction Koprulu Junction will increase the traffic traffic in the region. He stated that it reduces the intensity of the traffic, facilitates transit and prevents accidents.

Providing information about the Bursa-Orhaneli Provincial Road Doğancı Dam Variant, Karaismailoğlu said the following about the project: “Within the scope of the project, whose length is 3,5 kilometers, there is a viaduct of 220 meters and a tunnel of 1 meters. In previous years, 998 meters of excavation support work was carried out in the tunnel. We continue the tunnel excavation support works within the scope of the tender. Transportation is difficult due to the heavy traffic caused by the terrain of the road on the line and the floods and landslides in winter conditions. With the opening of our tunnel, the transportation distance of 515 kilometers will be shortened by 5,2 kilometers and will be 1,6 kilometers. The transportation time on the line will be reduced from 3,6 minutes to just 15 minutes.”

Talking about the contribution of the project to the economy, Karaismailoğlu said, with the line put into service; He underlined that 10 million liras will be saved annually, 4 million liras from time and 14 million liras from fuel oil. Noting that there will be 816 tons less emissions with the project, Karaismailoğlu added that the junction at the Bursa-Keles-Orhaneli junction will become much safer with the completion of the project.
