Toyota exceeded 19,5 million in sales of vehicles with “revolutionary” hybrid technology, which it offered to the automotive industry. Strict environmental regulations recently adopted all over the world, especially in Europe, and the nature-friendly approaches of users have been influential in the hybrid car orientation. In this way, Toyota, which introduced the first hybrid car in the world in 1997, has prevented carbon emissions exceeding 150 million tons since then.

In addition, with the preferences of Turkish users, who have shown great interest in environmentally friendly fuel technologies and economical driving in recent years, the share of hybrid cars in Turkey has increased above 8 percent in the total market. This rate was reflected in the records as only 2012 percent in 0,04. Introducing the first hybrid car in Turkey in 2009, Toyota has sold 56 hybrid vehicles to date. Toyota is well ahead in the market with a 694 percent share in total hybrid automobile sales in Turkey. The proportion of hybrids in the brand's total vehicle sales in the Turkish market has approached 40 percent.

As automotive manufacturers take new steps to develop these technologies within the scope of the Green Deal, Toyota once again reveals the importance it attaches to the issue with its “2050 Environmental Target”. Underlining that it is not necessary to focus only on the emissions from the exhaust in terms of protecting the environment, Toyota; He argues that the carbon footprint formed in the process from the production of the vehicle to its use and recycling of the vehicle should also be looked at. The brand also; It also allocates great resources for studies such as zero CO2 in production, reducing the use of natural resources, afforestation activities, use of recycled water, and minimizing waste.

Rail transport to reduce carbon emissions

In order to reduce emissions, Toyota started to transport its new cars by cross-channel rail between Valenciennes Vehicle Logistics center in France and Toton in England in Europe. It is expected that this logistics step will come to the fore as the first part of the Pan-European plan and will have a large share in rail transport in line with the goal of reducing the carbon emissions of logistics operations in the coming period. Toyota will initially handle the logistics of around 270 vehicles with 70 train services per year. Toyota expects this new international logistics traffic to reduce CO2 emissions by 10 percent and delivery times by around 50 percent across Europe's total logistics network.

As part of Toyota's bid to be as Carbon Neutral as in Europe, Toyota will convert some of its main logistics routes to rail in Europe by 2025. Toyota will start the second phase of the Railway project in Europe in April 2022. When this phase is completed, it is estimated that there will be 7 million kilometers of savings per year on the freight truck account. In this way, both road use and emission rates will be reduced.

It will carry 50 years of hybrid experience to electric cars

Toyota also allocates significant resources to the electrification process, which it started with hybrids. Toyota, which will invest approximately $2030 billion until 13.6 to develop batteries that will be needed more in electric vehicles, aims to have zero-emission new vehicles in the EU by 2035. To this end; Toyota continues to operate with the vision that hybrids, cable-chargeable hybrids, hydrogen fuel cells and electric vehicles all play a role. Thus, Toyota will create a product range of 2030 electric vehicles in the passenger and commercial segments by 30.

Toyota will also expand its electric product range with life style products. These will include electric sports cars, off-road vehicles, pick-up models and commercial vehicles.
