Ayşegül İşsever has been appointed as the General Art Director of İBB City Theatres. İşsever, who has acted in many plays as an actress for years, held various artistic positions in the institution, and most recently served as the Stage Director, became the third woman to be appointed to this position at the IMM City Theatres.
Ayşegül İşsever has been appointed as the General Art Director of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB) City Theatres, which has brought the city together with art since its establishment in 1914. İşsever became the third female artist to be appointed to this position, after Gencay Gürün and Ayşenil Şamlıoğlu.
Who is Ayşegül İşsever?
Ayşegül İşsever was born on September 20, 1962 in Ankara. She completed her primary and secondary school at Yıldız College in Istanbul, and high school at Nişantaşı Girls' High School. İşsever entered Istanbul University State Conservatory Theater Department in 1984 and took part in various private theaters (Hadi Çaman Yeditepe Players, Dormen Theater, Ali Atik-Ayşegül Atik Children's Theater etc.) during this period.
After graduating from the conservatory, İşsever entered the Istanbul City Theater as a permanent artist, and served as a member of the disciplinary committee at the institution as well as acting. She was a board member of İŞTİSAN (Istanbul City Theater Artists Association) between 2010-2016. She worked as a lecturer at Haliç University between 2014-2017.
Ayşegül İşsever, who has been acting actively at the Istanbul City Theater for 33 years, took on the role of Stage Director in 2019 in addition to her acting role. Recently, she was appointed as the General Art Director of IMM City Theatres.
