The Content of SAMULAŞ Has Changed: A More Efficient Operating Model is Transitioned to the Rail System

SAMULAŞ also operated our rail system and around 100 buses. Therefore, we transferred the buses of SAMULAŞ to the Department of Transportation. We took the decision in parliament. Our Transportation Department manages a total of 163 buses," he said.

'We shifted public buses to C plate'

Explaining that the public buses were disabled, President Demir continued as follows: 'While we commissioned 163 buses, we also disabled 106 public buses in Samsun by talking to them. We shifted them to the C plate. So they had to renew the buses. There were air conditioning problems. Disabled landing and boarding were missing. Serious inconsistencies began to appear in the timing and line service hours. Of course, our bus operators related to the pandemic and the process were suffering a serious loss. Problems started to develop when there were irregularities in the transportation of our people. We have authorized our Department of Transportation in a single item. Therefore, the content of SAMULAŞ has changed. We are moving to a more efficient operating model in the rail system. There has been a change of duty in the company, there will be changes in the structure of the company. We are making SAMULAŞ a structure that operates the rail system, maintains it and ensures its sustainability. We aim to exhibit an exemplary management in Turkey.'

'130 security number will decrease to 30, employees will not be victimized'

Expressing that the rail system is working to cover its own expenses, President Demir said, "The rail system will cover its own expenses. In SAMULAŞ, we have changed the management and we are changing the company structure. We are working with ASELSAN. There are 130 security guards on duty in the system. This number will decrease to 30. We're going to move the security guys to another area. We will not harm any of our employees. For example, we customized Sevgi Cafe and Amisos. We shifted our employees there to other units," he said.

Chairman Demir added that Deputy General Manager Gökhan Beler has been appointed to the post of General Manager of SAMULAŞ, which was vacated by the resignation of Enver Sedat Tamgacı.
