Karsan continues to ease the urban transportation of Mersin Metropolitan Municipality with its Menarinibus Citymood CNG (natural gas) fueled green buses. Karsan won the tender for the purchase of new vehicles, opened by Mersin Metropolitan Municipality with the contributions of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, in order to use more environmentally friendly buses in harmony with the historical texture and architecture of the city. With this last tender of 21,9 million Euros won, Karsan will deliver a total of 84 Menarinibus Citymood CNG buses, 12 of which are 34 meters and 18 are 118 meters, to Mersin Municipality in 2022. Having delivered 2021 CNG-fueled buses to Mersin Municipality in 87, Karsan will offer a total of 2022 CNG-powered Menarinibus Citymood buses to the use of Mersin residents with deliveries to be completed in 205.
Together with 2022 67-meter Karsan Atak buses, which will be delivered to Mersin Metropolitan Municipality in 8, the total number of Karsan vehicles serving in Mersin will increase to 272, and these vehicles will allow the people of Mersin to travel comfortably and safely in the city. It offers comfortable operations. The environmental friendly, Euro 6 normed FPT CURSOR 7,8 CNG engine with a volume of 8 liters offers its users 243 kW of power and a maximum torque of 1.300 Nm.
