Countdown Has Started for Izmir Star Awards

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality will reward good practices for the prevention of all kinds of violence and discrimination against women. Local governments, companies, institutions, non-governmental organizations, professional chambers and real persons will be able to participate in the "Izmir Star Awards" with their projects on gender equality. The deadline for submission of projects is February 15.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, which is preparing to give Izmir Star Awards every year to examples of good practices for the prevention of all kinds of violence and discrimination against women, awaits the projects of associations, foundations, professional chambers, voluntary organizations, local governments, companies and real people.

Projects that will participate in the Izmir Star Awards must be sent to izmiryildizi@izmir.bel.tr until February 15, 2022. The award ceremony will be held on March 8 at the Ahmed Adnan Saygun Art Center.

Project titles

For the Izmir Star Awards, projects in the fields of concrete practices to realize gender equality, creating employment, encouraging entrepreneurship and cooperatives, increasing women's participation in economic and social life, combating violence, supporting girls and young women, and equality in representation will be accepted.

What is required for application?

Those who want to participate in the competition should add the project's name, scope, target audience, the number of people reached, and the project's targeted total impact, as well as promotional materials such as videos, photographs, visuals and brochures of the project to the application file.

The Selected Board will evaluate

The selection committee will consist of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Gender Equality Commission, İzmir Bar Association, Yaşar University, İzmir Commodity Exchange, İzmir Journalists Association, TMMOB İzmir Provincial Coordination Board, İzmir City Council and Village-Koop representatives.
