İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger said, “As the public sector, we will take part in this fair with all our institutions and all apartments. All institutions will present themselves in the best way at this fair. They will work to attract the most talented and talented young people to their ranks. We also attach great importance to the participation of the private sector.”

EU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak said, "As a university that aims to raise young people who have been producing for their country and nation under the guidance of science for 67 years, we are proud to be a part of this nationally important organization on youth employment."

Under the coordination of the Presidential Human Resources Office, an information meeting was held for the Aegean Region Career Fair (EGEKAF), which will be held with the participation of 20 universities of the region, hosted by Ege University. Izmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger, President of the Presidential Human Resources Office Assoc. Dr. Salim Atay, rectors of universities to take part in EGEKAF, non-governmental organizations and representatives of the business world attended.

“It will be one of the biggest career fairs in the world”

Assoc. Dr. Salim Atay said, “We are the country with the highest young population in Europe. Therefore, the inclusion of this young population in employment, revealing their talents and making them have the skills is one of the issues that our Human Resources Office focuses on. For the organization that we had to cancel due to the pandemic the previous year, Ege University made contracts with 403 companies and registered more than 20 thousand students in the Talent Gate system. This year, with the support of our universities' career centers, we want to hold our fair with nearly 500 companies and 100 thousand students. When we reach these numbers, our organization will become one of the biggest career fairs in the world.”

“Ege University manages the process well”

Stating that the Human Resources Office has common principles in all its work, Assoc. Dr. Atay said, “One of them is inclusivity. We organize these events with the participation of 11 universities in 130 regions. Therefore, it is an inclusive organization where not only students but also large companies, SMEs and NGOs participate, where digital and technological tools are used to the fullest. One of the most important things for us is sustainability. Youth employment is not a process that can be managed with palliative tools and short-term perspectives. Seriously sophisticated tools, approaches and strategies are needed. For this, our Presidency has opened the Human Resources Office and one of the fields of activity of this office is the employment of young people. As far as we can see through our system, we can see that we will get very good results with these fairs to be held in 11 regions. The process is going really well for Ege University. There are 20 universities participating in our fair. I would like to thank our universities and employer representatives individually. This year, our career fair is integrated with the national internship program. In other words, we also offer our students the opportunity to choose which companies they can do internships at. I think we will have a very successful organization,” he said.

İzmir Governor Yavuz Selim Köşger said, “To employ the right person in the right place is one of our most important duties. It is also an important issue to develop the right person, the talented person, in line with their own abilities. Therefore, our universities are working to train talented people in the best way in line with their abilities and to employ them in the right place. The Human Resources Office of our Presidency also coordinates this throughout the country. It is pleasing that our students are given various opportunities, opportunities and internship opportunities to make career planning throughout the country. The main purpose of all of us; Our children from all professions should be properly educated and a good future should be built for them”.

“We will take part in this fair with all our public institutions”

Governor Köşger said, “As the public sector, we will take part in this fair with all our institutions and all apartments. All institutions will present themselves in the best way at this fair. They will work to attract the most talented and talented young people to their ranks. Here is my call to the private sector: It is important that you take part in this fair and make the necessary promotions. The strength of a country, the state means that both the private sector and the public are strong. This is a double sided situation. Therefore, the private sector should also employ talented students and talented young people. From here, I would like to thank all participating universities for their contributions and recommend that all institutions, especially the private sector, give due importance to this fair and participate at the highest level. I wish the fair good luck. Ege University and Ege University Rector Prof. Dr. I would like to thank Necdet Budak and all our university rectors and representatives of our business world for their contributions.”

“We are proud to host EGEKAF”

Stating that they are proud to host EGEKAF, EU Rector Prof. Dr. Necdet Budak said, “As a university that aims to raise young people who have been producing for their country and nation under the guidance of science for 67 years, we are proud to be a part of this nationally important organization on youth employment. Our University; With its graduate profile, it has shown its meticulousness in raising individuals who are sensitive to the realities of the country and the world, who are academically and culturally equipped, who can think productively and analytically. The opportunities we offer in career planning are the most important indicators of our sensitivity to the development of our students and the employment of our graduates. At this very point, hosting the Aegean Region Career Fair has been a process in which we are very excited to take part. In fact, this process started in 2020 for our university as part of the Career Fair, which is planned to be held in 2019. We carried out serious studies by making very important contacts for the preparations of the fair that we will be hosting that year. However, unfortunately, we could not hold the fair due to pandemic measures. We have been working hard for a long time in order to fulfill this task, which we have undertaken this year, in the best way possible. At the meetings we held with the Rectors and career representatives of our regional universities, we carried out studies that will expand our contribution to both employment of our youth and meeting the need for qualified workforce in our region.

Rector Budak, who said that they act on a common ground with all stakeholders, said, “We acted with the other universities of our region with the common denominator that we are obliged to offer our youth more than providing them with professional and academic competence. Because we know that today, the criteria of success are too diversified to be limited by these two competencies. Therefore, in the increasingly competitive environment of the labor market, we need to open doors that will enable our young people to reveal their potential. To share with you the pride and happiness of having built an extremely productive atmosphere for our youth here today; We are coming together to announce our event to more young people. At the Aegean Region Career Fair, which we will hold on March 21-22, we will bring together highly motivated, well-equipped, qualified human resources who want to improve themselves with the business world. Within the scope of the event, our participants; We will provide many opportunities such as promotional stands, interview simulations, case studies, panels and workshops of the important companies of the sector. Thus, all our young people who want to take the first steps of their journey to success will have the opportunity to get to know their profession closely, meet with the important names of the sector and reveal their own potential. Our hope is that all our young people who have the opportunity will benefit from this productive atmosphere. I sincerely wish that the fair will be productive for all participants and stakeholders.”
