Turkish Armed Forces struck terror nests in Derik, Sinjar and Karacak regions, which are used as bases by terrorists in northern Iraq and Syria, with an air operation.
Minister Akar followed the "Operation Winter Eagle" with the Chief of General Staff, General Yaşar Güler, Air Force Commander General Hasan Küçükakyüz and Naval Forces Commander Admiral Adnan Özbal, at the Air Force Command Operations Center. Descending to the Operations Center with the Command Level accompanying him, Minister Akar received a briefing on the operation from the Chief of Staff of the Air Forces Command, Lieutenant General İsmail Güneykaya.
Addressing the personnel after the planes destroyed the targets of the terrorist organization, Minister Akar said, "We have successfully completed the Winter Eagle Operation." he said.

“In this context, the operation carried out against terrorist targets in northern Iraq and Syria was carefully planned and carried out successfully. As in all our activities, we took all necessary precautions not to harm innocent people and the environment, both in planning and execution, and carried out the operation accordingly. Terrorists' shelters, bunkers, caves, tunnels, warehouses, so-called training centers and so-called headquarters of terrorists were targeted. Only terrorists and structures belonging to terrorists were targeted. Terrorists' shelters, bunkers, lairs and caves were destroyed on their heads. Terrorists once again felt the breath of the Turkish Armed Forces on their necks. The collapse of the terrorist organization accelerated. Minister Akar stated that a large number of terrorists of all colors on the wanted list were neutralized with this operation, and said, “Along with our other elements, especially the Eagles of our Air Force, fulfilled the tasks assigned to them with great success. Staying in the Operations Center and following the developments closely, Akar and his accompanying TAF Command Level left the Air Force Command Headquarters late at night.
