The Ministry of Foreign Affairs published a message on the 30th anniversary of the Khojaly massacre. In a written statement from the Ministry, it was stated:

“In the attacks of the troops of the Republic of Armenia on the city of Khojaly in the Karabakh region of Azerbaijan on February 26, 1992, 613 innocent Azerbaijani civilians, including many women and children, were killed and hundreds of Azerbaijani citizens were injured. In addition, more than a thousand people were taken prisoner by Armenian forces. The fate of the disappeared has still not been clarified until today.

We know that the wounds caused by the brutality experienced 30 years ago before the eyes of the world are still fresh, we accept the pain of brother Azerbaijan as our pain and share it most deeply.

We wish God's mercy on our Azerbaijani brothers who lost their lives in the Khojaly Massacre, reiterate our sincere condolences to all dear Azerbaijani people, and respectfully commemorate the cherished memories of those who lost their lives. “
