Tourism Information Office Opened in Konak

The third of the offices, which welcome the tourist convoys to Izmir and guide the tourists with informative documents and promotional films, was put into service in Konak. Konak Tourism Information Office has started to accept local and foreign tourists across the old service building of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality.

Tourism infrastructure is getting stronger

Providing information about the works, İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Tourism Branch Manager Melih Kayacık said, “We have determined our road map in the field of tourism with the Tourism Strategy. We continued our work to strengthen our tourism infrastructure during the pandemic process. While positioning İzmir as a reliable and healthy destination with the Orange Circle; We both implemented the Visit İzmir application and opened our tourism information offices. We give documents that introduce both the region and Izmir to the tourists who come to our city. We answer the questions asked by the tourists and provide guidance. Our aim here is to highlight İzmir as a tourism city and to ensure that İzmir's tourism values ​​are known. After Alsancak and Kültürpark, our information office in Konak was put into service. Another feature of this place is that it allows the car park in front of it to be used as a loading and unloading place by tour vehicles. Tourists are welcomed here by our friends. We will open the Kemeraltı Information Office in the coming days. We aim to open new offices in areas with high tourist density, such as Alsancak Port and Alsancak Ferry Terminal," he said.

In the office, which was built as a container type and has an interior volume of 18 square meters in the Kemeraltı region, where the tourist density is high, local and foreign tourists are informed and guided by the expert staff of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tourism Branch Office. There are also Turkish-English promotional documents, city guide and promotional films for İzmir and Kemeraltı region for tourists in the offices. With the Visit Izmir application, it is explained how tourists can discover the city.

Drop off point for tour buses

The front area of ​​the Tourism Information Office, located in the area where the parking lot of the old service building of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality is located, was designed as the area where tour buses can get their passengers on and off. The area, which has a capacity of 4 tour buses, allows tourist groups to easily access the Kemeraltı region. Other Tourism Information offices are located in Alsancak, within the Izmir Cinema Office and in the Kulturpark Pakistan Pavilion.
