Bornova Municipality Digital Film Office (BBFO), which has been working to make young people love cinema and to guide future filmmakers since 2010, is launching another project that will make a difference. Young people with Down syndrome shoot their own films at the Short Film Workshop organized in cooperation with the Izmir Down Syndrome Association.

The "Short Film Workshop", where each participant will take place both behind and in front of the camera, continues with the participation of 12 young people with down syndrome. Having an extraordinary experience, the participants spend pleasant moments in the workshops. Workshops with stop-motion filmmaking training and practice will last for 12 weeks. With the project they will develop jointly, the participants will design and shoot a short film with content focusing on their lives and dreams and present it to the audience. Film screenings will be held on March 21, Down Syndrome Awareness Day.

We are with you in every aspect of life

Reminding that they have been providing production support with the Bornova Municipality Film Office for years, while providing training to young people in the fields of short films and photography, Bornova Mayor Dr. Mustafa İduğ said, “The work we carry out with the understanding of social municipality continues. With the We Make a Difference at Work project, which we implemented before, we provided employment to our youth with down syndrome by providing vocational training. With this enjoyable project, we aimed to raise awareness. We stand by our special brothers in every aspect of life,” he said.
