53 percent of the District Public Transportation Transfer Center Project, which the passengers and minibuses living in the districts have been waiting for years, has been completed. Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “With the commissioning of the transfer center for the district minibuses, both the traffic load will decrease and the transportation problem of our citizens to the city center will be eliminated. Our concern and excitement is for Samsun,” he said.
Samsun Metropolitan Municipality not only addresses the urban traffic problem with the "Smart City Traffic Safety" project, but also collects the public transportation vehicles coming from the districts in a single center. 53 percent of the District Public Transportation Transfer Center, the construction of which started last year, has been completed.

COMING TO THE CENTER WITH ONE VEHICLE

The construction of the center, where the surrounding field concrete and steel construction productions have been completed and the interior works continue, is rapidly increasing. When the center, which is an investment of 8 million 786 thousand liras, is put into service, citizens will now be able to reach the city center from the district with a single vehicle. The problems experienced by the passengers and minibus drivers coming from the districts for years will become history with the center that will be used without waiting.

THE PROBLEM OF TRANSPORTATION TO THE CITY CENTER WILL BE FINISHED

Expressing that the problems in transportation to the city center will be eliminated with the commissioning of the transfer center for the district minibuses, Samsun Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mustafa Demir said, “Our concern and excitement is for Samsun. I am one of the people who feel the best of what the minibus drivers and our citizens are going through. While deciding something, we do not decide at the desk, we mingle with the people. Citizens from the districts had difficulties in reaching the city centre. Now we are eliminating. If you have a private vehicle, no problem. A minibus carries 14 passengers and cannot enter the city. Coming from Bafra, if he wants to go anywhere he wants in Samsun, he will change 3 vehicles. Consider your return. Our citizens are the crown of our heads," he said.

IT WILL ALSO REDUCE TRAFFIC LOAD

Stating that there will be a decrease in the entrance of private vehicles to the city when the Transfer Center is put into service, President Demir said, “According to the calculation we made, we anticipate a decrease in the entrance of private vehicles to the city when the transfer center is opened to service. The count shows this. Our aim is to establish the right and optimum transportation. Because for us, it is more important for the economy, safety and timely arrival of people using public transportation. The settlement of the system will begin with the commissioning of the transfer center. We do this so that our people coming from the districts can reach their destination with a single vehicle. Currently, 53 percent of the center has been completed. It continues to rise rapidly. We will complete and put it into service as soon as possible,” he said.
