IMM took measures against snowfall, which is expected to be effective in Istanbul. An Icing Early Warning System was installed at 60 different locations. A total of 7.421 personnel were assigned to the field with 1.582 vehicles.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality made preparations to avoid any negativity in the road network of 4 thousand 23 km in its area of responsibility. Snowplows, solution and salting equipment were deployed to 465 different points.
ICE EARLY WARNING SYSTEM
Thanks to BEUS (Ice Early Warning System) established at 60 points, possible icing will be intervened immediately. A total of 206 thousand tons of salt was placed at certain points for immediate use on overpasses, bus stops, squares and main roads. Towing and rescuing vehicles were deployed on the main roads and ring roads. Planning was also made to keep the village roads open with tractors with snow plows.
1 TONS OF FOOD DAILY TO OUR BEST FRIENDS
With the cooling of the weather, dry food with high nutritional value was provided for stray stray animals that had difficulty in finding food in remote areas of the city. IMM Veterinary Services Directorate will provide 500 ton of food support per day at 1 points for our dear friends.
MOBILE BUFFETS WILL WARM THE CITIZEN
The needs of drivers will be met with mobile kiosks that will serve in heavy traffic that may arise in heavy snowfalls. . Hot drinks, soup and water will be served to drivers waiting in traffic in the emergency services of hospitals, piers and roads.
HOMELESS CITIZENS WILL BE GUESTED AT IMM GUESTHOUSES
The homeless people staying on the street in harsh winter conditions will be identified by the municipal police and will be hosted in IMM guesthouses after their health checks. Currently, 404 homeless citizens are hosted, including 18 men (Esenyurt) and 422 women (Kayışdağı).
