EGM's First ARES 35 FPB Boat Named after Martyr Eren Bülbül

The first Patrol Boat within the scope of the Control Boat Project started to serve in Trabzon, the hometown of Martyr Eren Bülbül. On August 21, 2017, Eren Bülbül was shot dead in the rural area of ​​Trabzon's Maçka district, when PKK terrorists reported their presence to the security forces. A commemoration program was held in Trabzon on the birthday of Martyr Eren Bülbül. The name "Martyr Eren Bülbül" was given to the first Patrol boat, which was brought to the Police Department as part of the "Control boat project" by the Presidency of Defense Industries of the Republic of Turkey. “Martyr Eren Bülbül Patrol Boat” started to work in Trabzon. 35 units of ARES 17 FPB fast patrol boats will be delivered to the General Directorate of Security.

Control Bot Project

In February 2018, the Control Boat Project Tender Announcement was published on the official website of the Presidency of Defense Industries (at that time undersecretariat). Within the scope of the project, 105 Control Boats will be procured for the Coast Guard Command's needs. It was decided that the tender, for which 5 companies received a call for proposal, would be awarded to Ares Shipyard. It was produced for the first time for the Coast Guard Command. The boat can reach a speed of 35 knots per hour.

It is designed and built for irregular migration, search and rescue, the fight against human trafficking, and security. Control boats, which are expected to be able to intervene in all forensic cases at sea as well as human smuggling, will be deployed mainly in the ports of small towns.

ARES 35 FPB is a fast patrol boat developed by Ares Shipyard for the Coast Guard Command.
