Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality has completed its work on the landscaping project that connects the Assyrian Castle and the Prophet's Tombs in Eğil district.

The Metropolitan Municipality continues its investments in order to bring the historical and culturally important places of the city to tourism.

The Department of Parks and Gardens has completed its work on the "Assyrian Castle and Prophets Tombs Landscaping" project in Eğil, which is the city's faith tourism destination due to its historical and touristic areas.

Within the scope of the study, a 5-kilometer-long walking path was built in an area of 1,8 thousand square meters in order to enable domestic and foreign tourists to visit more easily.

The walkway, in which wooden sleepers and tile semolina were used, was illuminated with LED lighting to provide an aesthetic appearance at night and for visitors to find their way easily.

Within the scope of the landscaping, 2 welcome, 2 routes and 8 promotion signs were placed in the designated areas in order to inform the visitors about the history of the district and to enable them to find the place to go easily.

The Parks and Gardens Department will decorate the area between the Assyrian Castle and the Prophet's Tombs with various trees and plants in February, as part of greening works.
