Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that the Ankara-Istanbul road is completely open to traffic, and said, “Our traffic is open to almost all of our roads in Turkey.

All our units will continue to work devotedly for safe transportation.” Karaismailoğlu, who also warned the citizens about winter tires, said, “Make sure to obey the signs and pointers. The website and call centers of our General Directorate of Highways are open. It is enough to make a phone call to get any information,” he said.

Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu made a statement at the Bolu Mountain Tunnel Maintenance Operations Directorate of the General Directorate of Highways.

Emphasizing that there is an intense struggle with 68 thousand vehicles and equipment and 11 thousand employees to keep the 13 thousand-kilometer road network open throughout Turkey, Karaismailoğlu said, “We had a difficult period between Istanbul and Ankara, especially as of last night. In the center of Bolu Mountain, our friends have been fighting hard for the safe transportation of our citizens for the last 48 hours, almost without sleeping. As of 09.00:XNUMX yesterday evening, we had to close the Kaynaşlı-Bolu section of the TEM highway to traffic. Because it was very difficult for the traffic to operate safely. We had to block the road so that our citizens would not suffer," he said.

Emphasizing that the D-100 highway was opened to traffic as of 06.00:09.00 in the morning and the TEM highway was fully opened to traffic as of 100:XNUMX, Karaismailoğlu said that safe transportation was provided between Ankara and Istanbul, and that there was no problem in traffic on both the D-XNUMX highway and the TEM highway.

WINTER TIRE WARNING TO CITIZENS

Noting that the biggest winter season of the last 50 years has been experienced in Bolu, Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu also drew attention to the importance of winter tires. Noting that the unprepared departure of the citizens had an impact on the problem experienced last night, Karaismailoğlu stated that the problems got worse due to the heavy vehicle trucks closing certain road sections. Minister Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:

“Furthermore, it is absolutely necessary to leave the safety lane blank. Because in case of any negativity, our vehicles can provide transportation from the safety lane. Nearly 500 of our colleagues in Bolu, together with over 100 vehicles and equipment, are making an intense effort to keep the roads open for safe transportation. Our friends will continue to work with great devotion so that our citizens are not affected by adverse weather conditions. In Turkey, almost all of our roads are open to traffic. Again, I warn our citizens. Please do not drive on vehicles without winter tires. Be sure to obey signs and markers. The website and call centers of our General Directorate of Highways are open. Just make a phone call to get any information. We will have a difficult process for two more days. We took all our precautions. We will continue to work with great devotion to avoid any problems.”
