Due to the renovation works of Göztepe Martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay Pedestrian Overpass, traffic flow will be changed. Traffic flow will be provided from two lanes in the direction of Balçova-Konak, in the 300-meter section where the bridge is located, between 22 January and 27 February.

Izmir Metropolitan Municipality announced that there will be a change in traffic flow due to maintenance, repair and strengthening works of Göztepe Martyr Kerem Oğuz Erbay Pedestrian Overpass on Mustafa Kemal Beach Boulevard.

The Balçova-Konak direction of the 300-meter section on Mustafa Kemal Sahil Boulevard, where the bridge is located, will be closed to traffic on January 22, 2022. In this section, traffic flow will be reduced from three lanes to two lanes. On February 27, 2022, the work on the steel ropes will be completed and the traffic flow will be increased to three lanes again.

It will open to the public in May.

Reinforcement will be made on the 1997-meter-long steel suspension bridge, which was opened as the Güzelyalı Overpass in 2010 and named after Kerem Oğuz Erbay, who was martyred in Iskenderun in 125. A wooden seating area will be created around the feet of the bridge. The existing coating on the walkway will be removed, and both the walkway and the railings will be renewed. The works, which will cost 6 million 100 thousand liras, will be completed in May.
