The Ministry of National Education prepared an optional comprehensive training program for teachers during the two-week semester break between January 22 and February 6. In this context, MEB created a new digital platform and will implement the ÖBA (Teacher Information Network) for the first time during the semester break. Teachers will be able to participate in in-service training activities prepared for them between January 24 and February 04 through the IBA (Teacher Information Network). Participation in the seminars will be optional. Seminars are constantly on the air during the specified date range and participation can be made from any place with an internet connection.
The seminars will be accessed via the ÖBA platform oba.gov.tr. By logging into the system with their MEBBİS or e-Government passwords, teachers will be able to attend one or more of the training topics offered. The "seminar participation certificate" will be given as an e-certificate from the MEBBIS in-service training module to the teachers who complete the seminars.
During this period, training opportunities were provided in nine different subjects: Intellectual and Industrial Property Rights Training, Climate Change and Environment Training, First Aid Training, Library Organization and Use Training, English Language System Teaching Skills Development Training, Guidance Services Training for Children in Temporary Protection Status, Counseling Skills Training for Children in Temporary Protection Status, Digital Skills Development Training and Activity Based Lesson Design Training.
Making an assessment on the subject, Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer said: “As I explained earlier, the primary focus of ours this term is the multidimensional support of our teachers' professional and personal development. In this context, we are taking a multidimensional step. I am happy to see the positive reflection of these steps on the results. While the number of teachers participating in the trainings we organized in 2021 increased by 2020% compared to 134, we have reached the highest number of training hours per person in the last ten years with this increase. Accordingly, while the training hour per teacher was 2020 hours in 41,6, this rate increased by 2021% to 125 hours in 93,4. I would like to thank our General Directorate of Teacher Training for successfully carrying out these processes.”
Özer stated that they established the Teacher Informatics Network (ÖBA) in 2022 to enrich the education options of teachers in distance education, and that this platform will be used for the first time during the two-week semester break between January 24 and February 4, 2022.
