Preparations for the Müyesser Turfan Temporary Male Guest House and the hotels opened by the Metropolitan Municipality to the homeless for accommodation have been completed. Mayor of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Tunç Soyer, saying that whatever is necessary will be done for the citizens living on the streets, made a call to the people of Izmir by saying, "If you come across such a situation in your neighborhood, we ask you to inform the municipality". The Metropolitan Municipality, with its four mobile teams, immediately intervenes in all cases for 24 hours.
From food to clothing, all needs are met
Müyesser Turfan Temporary Men's Guest House teams in Ornekkoy, affiliated to Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Social Services Branch, evaluate the notices and pick up the citizens who have housing problems from where they are. Health checks are carried out for those who come to the center. Food, shelter, personal care and clothing needs are met. In cases requiring treatment, we work in coordination with Eşrefpaşa Hospital. Psychological support services are also provided to the hosted citizens. The Metropolitan Municipality also notifies the Alo 60 Social Support Line of the Ministry of Family and Social Services for notifications about citizens over the age of 183 living on the street.
The Metropolitan also keeps the doors of the Historical Basmane Bath open for the homeless in the city. The hammam serves those who have accommodation problems on Mondays and Thursdays. Within the scope of the application, clothing support is provided, cleaning and hairdressing needs are met.
