Is Duldul Mountain Cable Car Sold in Düziçi?

Osmaniye Düziçi Mayor Alper Öner broke his silence in response to the words of the previous term Mayor Ökkeş Namlı, “The president is selling the cable car in Düziçi”. President Öner, who examined the ongoing ropeway works on site, made a statement to the journalists here. President Öner, who started his words by saying, “The former president made a statement a few days ago, the president was selling the cable car in Düziçi,” said that there was no such thing, he did not sell the cable car.

Stating that they have paid approximately 2019 million liras since March 37, Mayor Alper Öner said, “The former mayor made a statement for a few days. He said that the president was selling the cable car in Düziçi. There is no such thing. I'm not selling the cable car or anything. In fact, we are concerned about what we can put on what has been done, how we can make our district more beautiful, how we can reduce unemployment, how we can increase employment and production. That's why we are here to break the perception that the cable car started by the president of Ökkeş is being sold. We are paying the 50 million loan and 12 million 250 thousand lira loan taken during the Ökkeş president period. Ökkeş president paid only three of these loans. So he paid a very small amount. As of March 2019, we have paid approximately 37 million liras," he said.

Mayor Öner, who firmly renewed that Düziçi Municipality would not sell the cable car, said, “The president of Ökkeş says we have a feasibility report prepared. True, we are not saying that it cannot be done physically, it is a burden on our municipality economically. We are concerned about how we can reduce this burden, how we can get out of this business with the least damage. Commercially, this cable car is too much for Düziçi Municipality's budget. So touring the Alps in Switzerland is not a dream job. If you reveal the economy, look at our income, not our expenses, then if you are going to do a business, you first use credit for the remaining part of your source. All of our cable cars are credit. It is difficult for businesses that are all credit to profit. In summary, Düziçi Municipality does not sell the cable car. But we are in exchange of views with private companies in order to operate better, and we will continue to do so.”
