Çine Gökbel Dam was opened with the participation of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli from the dam, with a live connection within the scope of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's collective opening program in Aydın.

President Erdoğan stated that they will officially put into service the Gökbel Dam, 360 irrigation facilities, stream improvement works, 4 agricultural support and 29 food facility grant projects, which they have completed with an investment of 9 million liras in agriculture.

Stating that they have built 13 dams, 8 ponds, 5 hydroelectric power plants, 36 irrigation facilities and 5 underground storage facilities in Aydın, the construction of 4 dams and 8 ponds continues, Erdoğan said:

“With the irrigation projects we have implemented, we have opened 548 thousand decares of agricultural land to irrigation. With the irrigation facilities under construction, we will open 294 thousand decares of fertile land for irrigation. We have given agricultural support to our Aydınlı farmers in the amount of 20 billion TL in 5,5 years. In energy, we supplied natural gas to Aydın, Çine, Efeler, İncirliova, Kuşadası, Nazilli and Söke. Hopefully, we will continue to bring Aydın together with new and much bigger investments in the coming period.”

Stating that supporting farmers continues to be at the top of the government's priorities, Erdoğan said, "Nobody should doubt that we will stand by our farmers by increasing the existing supports if necessary." said.

Stating that Turkey is in a very good place in industrial production, logistics and exports, there have been serious price increases in agricultural products and accordingly in the food sector due to the global balances disrupted by the epidemic, Erdoğan said, adding that with the picture emerging in products such as fertilizers and diesel, whose prices are determined on a global scale. He said that the troubles caused by the drought should definitely not spoil the morale.

Emphasizing that they want farmers to work harder with the determination not to leave a single inch of land uncultivated, planted or evaluated, President Erdoğan said that the world is heading towards a period when agricultural products will become the most precious commodity.

Stating that every product that comes out of the soil and every crop that enters the warehouse will find its value, Erdoğan said, “For this, our farmers should take care of their land, and our animal producers should not give rise to the smallest gap or neglect. Supporting our farmers remains at the top of our government's priorities. If necessary, no one should doubt that we will stand by our farmers by increasing the existing supports even more.” made the statement.

During the opening ceremony, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, who made a live connection from Gökbel Dam, gave information about the investments. Bekir Pakdemirli stated that they have completed 3,5 dams and 60 facilities with an investment of 126 billion liras in the last 500 years, and that they have put 470 facilities into service in Aydın, which cost a total of 41 million liras.

A closed pressure pipe system will be used to water a total of 146 decares of agricultural land, including Gökbel Dam, where the water from the Çine Adnan Menderes Dam will be stored, and 69 thousand decares of Koçarlı Bağarası irrigation, and 800 decares of Çine Irrigation.
