With the tree festival to be held in the Malta Village Afforestation Area in Menderes Değirmendere on January 29, 3 saplings donated by nature lovers and non-governmental organizations will meet with the soil as part of the campaign. For the new afforestation area, tree species suitable for the nature and climate of İzmir were selected, such as delirious olive, pine tree, wild pear, acorn oak, oleander and laurel. 816 different tree saplings will be planted on an area of approximately 112 thousand square meters. It is aimed to set an example for the whole of Turkey with the new afforestation area to be created with vegetation suitable for combating climate crisis, drought and forest fires.
15 saplings donated
Hundreds of nature lovers donated approximately 2021 thousand saplings to the One Sapling One World campaign, which was launched in August 15 in order to create afforestation areas suitable for the nature and climate of İzmir. 15 of the 3 thousand saplings donated will be planted in Değirmendere. Other donated saplings will meet the soil in 816 in different afforestation areas of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality and İZSU.
A colorful festival program has been prepared
