What does the protocol contain?

With the protocol, which is based on a research that will last for two years, researching the relationship between climate change and fire, especially in the forest and maquis areas of İzmir, determining the renewal levels of fire-affected areas, determining the possibilities of using plant species that are more resistant and compatible to fire and climate change in urban landscape and afforestation studies. In addition, it is aimed to investigate the birds, mammals, inland water fish and plant species that are among the important elements of İzmir's biological diversity. All biodiversity data obtained will be transferred numerically to the Geographical Information System database. In this way, a database that can be used in urban planning will be created by obtaining biodiversity data in 5×5 square kilometers in protected areas and 10×10 kilometers in other areas within the borders of İzmir province. In addition, in the restoration works to be carried out in the forests of İzmir after the fire, ecological planning and plant species that are more resistant to drought and fire will be used in landscaping and afforestation works.
